Indian Stock Market Updates March 12, 2020

BASF INDIA Plunges by 10%; BSE 500 Index Down 7.5%

BASF INDIA share price has plunged 10% and is presently trading at Rs 1,020.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 13,230 (down 7.5%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are BASF INDIA (down 10.3%) and P&G HYGIENE (down 10.4%).

LAKSHMI VILAS BANK (up 4.9%) and CG POWER & INDUSTRIAL (up 4.6%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, BASF INDIA has moved down from Rs 1,428 to Rs 1,020, registering a loss of Rs 408 (down 28.6%)..

The BSE 500 has moved down from 14,798 to 13,230, loss of 1,568 points (down 10.6%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 243.2%), NAVIN FLUORINE (up 114.1%) and GUJARAT GAS (up 80.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 34,472 (down 6.8%).

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,041 (down 7.3%).

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 37,054 to 34,472, registering a loss of 2,582 points (down 10.21%).

BASF INDIA Financial Update...

BASF INDIA net profit declined 15.6% YoY to Rs 324 million for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 384 million a year ago. Net Sales rose 43.4% to Rs 20.1 billion during the period as against Rs 14.1 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, BASF INDIA reported 150.4% decrease in net profit to Rs 443.0 million compared to net profit of Rs 879.0 million during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 5.3% to Rs 60 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BASF INDIA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 63.9x.
