BSE Sensex Surges 572 Points; SUN PHARMA Among Top Gainers

The BSE Sensex has surged 572 points to 33,350 (up 1.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE Sensex today are SUN PHARMA (up 5.7%), ULTRATECH CEMENT (up 3.8%) and NTPC (up 1.5%). Other gainers include ICICI BANK (up 1.4%) and TITAN (up 1.2%).

INDUSIND BANK (down 9.0%) and TECH MAHINDRA (down 6.4%) are among the top losers today.

In the meantime, the NSE Nifty Index is up 151 points to 9,750 (up 1.3%).

The top gainers in the NSE Nifty Index include include SUN PHARMA (up 5.4%), EICHER MOTOR (up 4.8%) and ULTRATECH CEMENT (up 3.6%). Other gainers include TITAN (up 2.2%) and NTPC (up 2.0%).

Over the last one year, the BSE Sensex has moved down from Rs 37,536 to Rs 33,350, registering a loss of Rs 4,186 (down 13.8%)..

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks during this same period were BHARTI AIRTEL (up 43.6%), NESTLE (up 41.5%) and BAJAJ FINANCE (up 36.7%).

Which stocks contributed the most to the BSE Sensex?

The biggest contributors to the gain in the Sensex today were SUN PHARMA and ULTRATECH CEMENT.

Among the other contributors were NTPC and ICICI BANK.
