GODREJ CONSUMER Surges by 6%; BSE FMCG Index Up 3.1%

GODREJ CONSUMER share price has zoomed 6% and is presently trading at Rs 539.

Meanwhile, the BSE FMCG Index is at 9,614 (up 3.1%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE FMCG Index today are GODREJ CONSUMER (up 5.5%) and GSK CONSUMER (up 6.4%).

TATA COFFEE (down 0.5%) and P&G HYGIENE (down 0.9%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, GODREJ CONSUMER has moved down from Rs 715 to Rs 539, registering a loss of Rs 176 (down 25.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE FMCG has moved down from 11,657 to 9,614, loss of 2,043 points (down 18.4%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE FMCG Index stocks during this same period were TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS (up 43.7%), NESTLE (up 38.5%) and GSK CONSUMER (up 26.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 32,048 (up 0.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are HUL (up 6.5%), HERO MOTOCORP (up 6.1%) and ASIAN PAINTS (up 4.9%). Other gainers include POWER GRID (up 4.6%) and ITC (up 3.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ONGC and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 9,404 (down 0.3%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include YES BANK (up 54.3%), HUL (up 6.1%) and HERO MOTOCORP (up 5.2%). Other gainers include POWER GRID (up 4.6%) and ASIAN PAINTS (up 4.6%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 38,095 to 32,048, registering a loss of 6,047 points (down 17.53%).

GODREJ CONSUMER Financial Update...

GODREJ CONSUMER net profit stood at Rs 4 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a profit of Rs 4 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 2.1% to Rs 27.8 billion during the period as against Rs 27.2 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, GODREJ CONSUMER reported 43.7% increase in net profit to Rs 20.9 billion compared to net profit of Rs 14.5 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 3.8% to Rs 103 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of GODREJ CONSUMER, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 24.9x.
