HUL Plunges by 6%; BSE FMCG Index Down 7.6%

HUL share price has plunged 6% and is presently trading at Rs 1,990.

Meanwhile, the BSE FMCG Index is at 9,307 (down 7.6%).

Among the top losers in the BSE FMCG Index today are HUL (down 6.2%) and GSK CONSUMER (down 6.1%).

Over the last one year, HUL has moved up from Rs 1,689 to Rs 1,990, registering a gain of Rs 301 (up 17.8%)..

The BSE FMCG has moved down from 11,731 to 9,307, loss of 2,424 points (down 20.7%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE FMCG Index stocks during this same period were NESTLE (up 28.4%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS (up 21.7%) and GSK CONSUMER (up 20.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 27,901 (down 9.6%).

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 8,159 (down 9.4%).

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 38,387 to 27,901, registering a loss of 10,486 points (down 29.53%).

HUL Financial Update...

HUL net profit stood at Rs 16 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a profit of Rs 14 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 2.6% to Rs 98.1 billion during the period as against Rs 95.6 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, HUL reported 19.6% increase in net profit to Rs 62.9 billion compared to net profit of Rs 52.6 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 8.5% to Rs 393 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HUL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 61.7x.
