BOMBAY BURMAH Plunges by 5%; BSE 500 Index Up 0.1%

BOMBAY BURMAH share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 630.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 10,374 (up 0.1%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are BOMBAY BURMAH (down 5.2%) and SCHAEFFLER INDIA LTD (down 7.2%).

CRISIL (up 8.2%) and INFOSYS (up 7.9%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, BOMBAY BURMAH has moved down from Rs 1,247 to Rs 630, registering a loss of Rs 616 (down 49.4%)..

The BSE 500 has moved down from 14,917 to 10,374, loss of 4,543 points (down 30.5%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 273.5%), ABBOTT INDIA (up 80.6%) and NAVIN FLUORINE (up 55.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 27,463 (up 0.4%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are INFOSYS (up 7.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ONGC and HDFC BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 8,037 (up 0.8%). INFOSYS (up 8.1%) and ADANI PORTS & SEZ (up 6.2%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 37,809 to 27,463, registering a loss of 10,346 points (down 31.01%).

BOMBAY BURMAH Financial Update...

BOMBAY BURMAH net profit stood at Rs 33 million for the quarter ended June 2013, compared to a profit of Rs 22 million a year ago. Net Sales rose 23.3% to Rs 678.0 million during the period as against Rs 550.0 million in April-June 2012.

For the year ended March 1999, BOMBAY BURMAH reported 100.0% decrease in net profit to Rs 0.0 million compared to net profit of Rs 81.0 million during FY98.

Revenue of the company grew 1.3% to Rs 1 billion during FY99.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BOMBAY BURMAH, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 103.7x.
