TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS Surges by 13%; BSE 500 Index Up 3.0%

TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS share price has zoomed 13% and is presently trading at Rs 281.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 10,407 (up 3.0%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE 500 Index today are TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS (up 12.5%) and METROPOLIS HEALTHCARE (up 18.0%).

JINDAL STEEL & POWER (down 0.1%) and MRPL (down 0.2%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS has moved up from Rs 196 to Rs 281, registering a gain of Rs 85 (up 43.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE 500 has moved down from 14,917 to 10,407, loss of 4,510 points (down 30.2%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 311.7%), ABBOTT INDIA (up 92.3%) and NAVIN FLUORINE (up 57.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 27,664 (up 3.7%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are MARUTI SUZUKI (up 9.2%), AXIS BANK (up 9.2%) and RELIANCE IND. (up 9.1%). Other gainers include HDFC (up 7.6%) and BHARTI AIRTEL (up 7.2%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are RELIANCE IND. and KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 8,094 (up 3.6%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include RELIANCE IND. (up 9.2%), MARUTI SUZUKI (up 9.0%) and AXIS BANK (up 8.9%). Other gainers include HDFC (up 8.2%) and BHARTI AIRTEL (up 7.0%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 37,809 to 27,664, registering a loss of 10,145 points (down 26.83%).


TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS net profit stood at Rs 1 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a profit of Rs 1 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 2.6% to Rs 19.6 billion during the period as against Rs 19.1 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS reported 13.8% decrease in net profit to Rs 5.1 billion compared to net profit of Rs 5.9 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 6.4% to Rs 73 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 33.6x.
