HUL Plunges by 5%; BSE FMCG Index Down 3.2%

HUL share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 2,324.
Meanwhile, the BSE FMCG Index is at 10,373 (down 3.2%).
Among the top losers in the BSE FMCG Index today are HUL (down 5.3%) and GILLETTE INDIA (down 5.8%).
GODREJ CONSUMER (up 6.3%) and BALRAMPUR CHINI (up 5.0%) are among the top gainers today.
Over the last one year, HUL has moved up from Rs 1,690 to Rs 2,324, registering a gain of Rs 634 (up 37.5%)..
The BSE FMCG has moved down from 11,723 to 10,373, loss of 1,350 points (down 11.5%) during the last 12 months.
The top gainers among the BSE FMCG Index stocks during this same period were NESTLE (up 44.4%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS (up 34.4%) and GSK CONSUMER (up 33.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?
The BSE Sensex is at 29,506 (down 3.4%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are HERO MOTOCORP (up 1.8%), BAJAJ AUTO (up 1.6%) and BAJAJ FINANCE (up 1.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are BAJAJ FINANCE and HERO MOTOCORP.
In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 8,588 (down 3.3%). INDIABULLS HOU. FIN. (up 3.1%) and HERO MOTOCORP (up 2.1%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.
Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 38,872 to 29,506, registering a loss of 9,366 points (down 26.79%).
HUL Financial Update...
HUL net profit stood at Rs 16 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a profit of Rs 14 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 2.6% to Rs 98.1 billion during the period as against Rs 95.6 billion in October-December 2018.
For the year ended March 2019, HUL reported 19.6% increase in net profit to Rs 62.9 billion compared to net profit of Rs 52.6 billion during FY18.
Revenue of the company grew 8.5% to Rs 393 billion during FY19.
The current Price to earnings ratio of HUL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 69.7x.
