BSE Sensex Surges 1,372 Points; INDUSIND BANK Among Top Gainers

The BSE Sensex has surged 1,372 points to 28,963 (up 4.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE Sensex today are INDUSIND BANK (up 14.9%), M&M (up 9.7%) and ICICI BANK (up 7.0%). Other gainers include AXIS BANK (up 6.3%) and HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up 5.9%).

BAJAJ FINANCE (down 0.1%) is among the top loser today.

In the meantime, the NSE Nifty Index is up 2,390 points to 8,468 (up 3.9%).

The top gainers in the NSE Nifty Index include include INDUSIND BANK (up 15.0%), M&M (up 10.0%) and AXIS BANK (up 6.6%). Other gainers include HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up 6.5%) and ICICI BANK (up 6.4%).

Over the last one year, the BSE Sensex has moved up from Rs 38,877 to Rs 28,963, registering a gain of Rs -9,914 (up -26.0%)..

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks during this same period were NESTLE (up 42.3%), BHARTI AIRTEL (up 36.0%) and HUL (up 35.1%).

Which stocks contributed the most to the BSE Sensex?

The biggest contributors to the gain in the Sensex today were INDUSIND BANK (47 points) and M&M (28 points).

Among the other contributors were ICICI BANK (25 points) and AXIS BANK (26 points).

What about the other broader BSE Indices?

The BSE 100 index has gained -3,320 points today and is now trading at 8,504 (down 28.1%). The top gainer here is AVENUE SUPERMARTS LTD (up 44.6%).

The BSE 500 on the other hand gained 4,339 points (up 3.7%), and is currently at 10,917.

Among the top gainers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index today are SIEMENS (up 1.7%) and HONEYWELL AUTOMATION (up 1.9%). The top losers include HAVELLS INDIA (down 0.2%) and GRAPHITE INDIA (down 0.2%).

ZENSAR TECHNOLOGIES share price has hit a 52-week high. It is presently trading at Rs 282. BSE 500 Index is up by 0.5% at 19,684. Within the BSE 500, ZENSAR TECHNOLOGIES (up 5.3%) and NAVA BHARAT VENTURES (up 11.2%) are among the top gainers, while top losers are MAGMA FINCORP and RELIANCE POWER.
