Indian Stock Market Updates April 9, 2020

HEG Surges by 9%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Up 1.8%

HEG share price has zoomed 9% and is presently trading at Rs 615.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index is at 11,287 (up 1.8%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index today is HEG (up 9.4%).

CARBORUNDUM UNIVERSAL (down 0.8%) and SKF INDIA (down 1.1%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, HEG has moved down from Rs 2,062 to Rs 615, registering a loss of Rs 1,447 (down 70.3%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS has moved down from 18,367 to 11,287, loss of 7,080 points (down 38.9%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index stocks during this same period were HONEYWELL AUTOMATION (up 15.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 30,760 (up 2.3%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are SUN PHARMA (up 4.4%), AXIS BANK (up 4.0%) and TECH MAHINDRA (up 3.8%). Other gainers include HDFC (up 3.6%) and ICICI BANK (up 3.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and INDUSIND BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 9,000 (up 2.6%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include CIPLA (up 15.0%), VEDANTA LTD (up 7.1%) and TATA MOTORS (up 6.1%). Other gainers include JSW STEEL (up 5.2%) and HDFC (up 4.3%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 38,701 to 30,760, registering a loss of 7,941 points (down 21.00%).

HEG Financial Update...

HEG net profit down at Rs 59 million for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 9 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 78.9% to Rs 3.9 billion during the period as against Rs 18.7 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, HEG reported 182.1% increase in net profit to Rs 30.5 billion compared to net profit of Rs 10.8 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 139.0% to Rs 66 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HEG, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 2.5x.
