Indian Stock Market Updates April 17, 2020

BHARAT FORGE Surges by 11%; BSE 500 Index Up 2.1%

BHARAT FORGE share price has zoomed 11% and is presently trading at Rs 268.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 12,149 (up 2.1%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE 500 Index today are BHARAT FORGE (up 10.9%) and OBEROI REALTY (up 10.8%).

BHARTI AIRTEL and ERIS LIFESCIENCES LIMITED are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, BHARAT FORGE has moved down from Rs 509 to Rs 268, registering a loss of Rs 241 (down 48.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE 500 has moved down from 15,501 to 12,149, loss of 3,352 points (down 22.5%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 345.1%), ABBOTT INDIA (up 116.3%) and NAVIN FLUORINE (up 103.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 31,712 (up 2.3%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TCS (up 5.9%), ICICI BANK (up 4.9%) and AXIS BANK (up 4.7%). Other gainers include BAJAJ FINANCE (up 4.6%) and INDUSIND BANK (up 4.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are HDFC BANK and TATA MOTORS.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 9,324 (up 2.0%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include INDIABULLS HOU. FIN. (up 7.6%), TCS (up 5.6%) and BAJAJ FINSERV (up 5.4%). Other gainers include EICHER MOTOR (up 4.8%) and AXIS BANK (up 4.4%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 39,276 to 31,712, registering a loss of 7,564 points (down 20.32%).

BHARAT FORGE Financial Update...

BHARAT FORGE net profit down at Rs 1 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 3 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 36.4% to Rs 10.8 billion during the period as against Rs 16.9 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, BHARAT FORGE reported 22.9% increase in net profit to Rs 10.4 billion compared to net profit of Rs 8.5 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 20.6% to Rs 101 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BHARAT FORGE, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 14.5x.
