Indian Stock Market Updates May 4, 2020

ZEE ENTERTAINMENT Plunges by 6%; BSE 500 Index Down 3.5%

ZEE ENTERTAINMENT share price has plunged 6% and is presently trading at Rs 157.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 12,422 (down 3.5%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are ZEE ENTERTAINMENT (down 5.8%) and BAJAJ AUTO (down 5.3%).

KALPATARU POWER (up 5.9%) and GSK CONSUMER (up 5.1%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, ZEE ENTERTAINMENT has moved down from Rs 432 to Rs 157, registering a loss of Rs 275 (down 63.7%)..

The BSE 500 has moved down from 15,294 to 12,422, loss of 2,872 points (down 18.8%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 404.2%), NAVIN FLUORINE (up 133.5%) and ABBOTT INDIA (up 132.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 32,748 (down 3.8%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are SUN PHARMA (up 1.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SUN PHARMA.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 9,534 (down 4.3%). SUN PHARMA (up 1.6%) and CIPLA (up 1.3%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 39,032 to 32,748, registering a loss of 6,284 points (down 16.90%).

ZEE ENTERTAINMENT Financial Update...

ZEE ENTERTAINMENT net profit down at Rs 3 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 6 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 5.5% to Rs 20.5 billion during the period as against Rs 21.7 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, ZEE ENTERTAINMENT reported 18.2% increase in net profit to Rs 15.9 billion compared to net profit of Rs 13.4 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 18.7% to Rs 79 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of ZEE ENTERTAINMENT, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 9.1x.
