Indian Stock Market Updates May 13, 2020

MARUTI SUZUKI Surges by 6%; BSE AUTO Index Up 4.4%

MARUTI SUZUKI share price has zoomed 6% and is presently trading at Rs 5,321.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO Index is at 13,651 (up 4.4%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE AUTO Index today are MARUTI SUZUKI (up 6.4%) and HERO MOTOCORP (up 5.3%).

Over the last one year, MARUTI SUZUKI has moved down from Rs 6,525 to Rs 5,321, registering a loss of Rs 1,204 (down 19.3%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO has moved down from 17,887 to 13,651, loss of 4,236 points (down 24.5%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE AUTO Index stocks during this same period were BALKRISHNA INDUSTRIES (up 15.3%) and MRF LTD. (up 10.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 32,845 (up 2.8%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are ICICI BANK (up 7.2%), MARUTI SUZUKI (up 6.4%) and AXIS BANK (up 6.3%). Other gainers include NTPC (up 6.2%) and HERO MOTOCORP (up 5.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ICICI BANK and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 9,584 (up 2.7%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include VEDANTA LTD (up 10.0%), INDIABULLS HOU. FIN. (up 7.3%) and ICICI BANK (up 7.0%). Other gainers include MARUTI SUZUKI (up 6.3%) and AXIS BANK (up 5.8%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 37,091 to 32,845, registering a loss of 4,246 points (down 13.08%).

MARUTI SUZUKI Financial Update...

MARUTI SUZUKI net profit stood at Rs 16 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a profit of Rs 15 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 5.3% to Rs 207.1 billion during the period as against Rs 196.7 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, MARUTI SUZUKI reported 2.9% decrease in net profit to Rs 76.5 billion compared to net profit of Rs 78.8 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 4.9% to Rs 861 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of MARUTI SUZUKI, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 25.9x.
