Indian Stock Market Updates June 5, 2020

THE INDIAN HOTELS Surges by 11%; BSE 500 Index Up 1.2%

THE INDIAN HOTELS share price has zoomed 11% and is presently trading at Rs 93.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 13,198 (up 1.2%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE 500 Index today are THE INDIAN HOTELS (up 11.2%) and PVR LTD (up 15.1%).

LAURUS LABS LTD and ZEE ENTERTAINMENT are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, THE INDIAN HOTELS has moved down from Rs 153 to Rs 93, registering a loss of Rs 60 (down 39.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE 500 has moved down from 15,636 to 13,198, loss of 2,438 points (down 15.9%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 528.2%), NAVIN FLUORINE (up 123.4%) and ABBOTT INDIA (up 115.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 34,405 (up 0.8%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are SBI (up 7.8%), TATA STEEL (up 5.9%) and NTPC (up 3.2%). Other gainers include BAJAJ FINANCE (up 2.8%) and HDFC BANK (up 2.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and INDUSIND BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,178 (up 1.1%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include TATA MOTORS (up 11.4%), BHARTI INFRATEL (up 8.1%) and SBI (up 7.8%). Other gainers include TATA STEEL (up 6.0%) and UPL (up 4.5%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 40,084 to 34,405, registering a loss of 5,679 points (down 14.55%).

THE INDIAN HOTELS Financial Update...

THE INDIAN HOTELS net profit stood at Rs 2 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a profit of Rs 2 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 3.7% to Rs 13.7 billion during the period as against Rs 13.2 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, THE INDIAN HOTELS reported 483.6% increase in net profit to Rs 2.4 billion compared to net profit of Rs 408.0 million during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 10.0% to Rs 45 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of THE INDIAN HOTELS, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 27.6x.

MAHANAGAR GAS share price has hit a 52-week high. It is presently trading at Rs 1,244. BSE 500 Index is down by 0.5% at 20,139. Within the BSE 500, MAHANAGAR GAS (up 3.4%) and BALRAMPUR CHINI (up 6.0%) are among the top gainers, while top losers are HINDUSTAN COPPER and APOLLO HOSPITALS.
