MAH. SCOOTERS Share Price Up by 6%; BSE AUTO Index Up 0.3%

MAH. SCOOTERS share price has zoomed 6% and is presently trading at Rs 2,766.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO Index is at 16,389 (up 0.3%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE AUTO Index today is MAH. SCOOTERS (up 5.5%).

HERO MOTOCORP (down 0.1%) and EXIDE INDUSTRIES (down 0.2%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, MAH. SCOOTERS has moved down from Rs 4,248 to Rs 2,766, registering a loss of Rs 1,482 (down 34.9%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO has moved down from 17,136 to 16,389, loss of 747 points (down 4.7%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE AUTO Index stocks during this same period were BALKRISHNA INDUSTRIES (up 82.2%), MRF LTD. (up 22.6%) and HERO MOTOCORP (up 16.3%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are INFOSYS (up 2.5%), BAJAJ FINANCE (up 2.3%) and BAJAJ FINSERV (up 1.7%). Other gainers include BAJAJ AUTO (up 1.6%) and ASIAN PAINTS (up 1.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are BAJAJ FINANCE and RELIANCE IND..

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,804 (up 0.1%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include INFOSYS (up 3.1%), BAJAJ AUTO (up 2.1%) and TATA MOTORS (up 2.0%). Other gainers include BAJAJ FINANCE (up 1.8%) and MARUTI SUZUKI (up 1.6%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 38,721 to 36,660, registering a loss of 2,061 points (down 5.64%).

MAH. SCOOTERS Financial Update...

MAH. SCOOTERS net profit down at Rs 22 million for the quarter ended September 2000, compared to a loss of Rs 78 million a year ago. Net Sales declined 46.7% to Rs 479.0 million during the period as against Rs 898.0 million in July-September 1999.

For the year ended March 2000, MAH. SCOOTERS reported 46.8% increase in net profit to Rs 251.0 million compared to net profit of Rs 171.0 million during FY99.

Revenue of the company grew 1.1% to Rs 3 billion during FY00.

The current Price to earnings ratio of MAH. SCOOTERS, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 235.9x.
