Indian Stock Market Updates July 16, 2020

ALEMBIC PHARMA at All Time High; BSE HEALTHCARE Index Down 0.1%

ALEMBIC PHARMA share price has hit an all-time high at Rs 988 (up 4.1%).

Meanwhile, the BSE HEALTHCARE Index is at 16,831 (down 0.1%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE HEALTHCARE Index today are ALEMBIC PHARMA (up 4.1%) and ABBOTT INDIA (up 0.6%).

GLENMARK PHARMA (down 0.1%) and SUN PHARMA (down 0.2%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, ALEMBIC PHARMA has moved up from Rs 535 to Rs 988, registering a gain of Rs 453 (up 84.0%).

The BSE HEALTHCARE has moved up from 13,012 to 16,831, registering a gain of 3,819 points (up 28.5%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE HEALTHCARE Index stocks during this same period were GRANULES INDIA (up 153.1%), J.B.CHEMICALS (up 94.4%) and ALEMBIC PHARMA (up 84.0%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 36,415 (up 0.8%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are INFOSYS (up 10.7%), HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up 2.9%) and M&M (up 2.9%). Other gainers include MARUTI SUZUKI (up 1.1%) and TCS (up 1.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are INFOSYS and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,709 (up 0.4%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include INFOSYS (up 10.7%), HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up 3.1%) and M&M (up 2.8%). Other gainers include HERO MOTOCORP (up 1.8%) and CIPLA (up 1.4%).

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 38,897 to 36,415, registering a loss of 2,482 points (down 6.6%).

ALEMBIC PHARMA Financial Update...

ALEMBIC PHARMA net profit down at Rs 2 billion for the quarter ended March 2020, compared to a loss of Rs 2 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 0.2% to Rs 12.1 billion during the period as against Rs 12.1 billion in January-March 2019.

For the year ended March 2019, ALEMBIC PHARMA reported 40.8% increase in net profit to Rs 5.9 billion compared to net profit of Rs 4.2 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 25.7% to Rs 39 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of ALEMBIC PHARMA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 23.1x.
