Indian Stock Market Updates August 6, 2020

TORRENT PHARMA at All Time High; BSE HEALTHCARE Index Up 1.2%

TORRENT PHARMA share price has hit an all-time high at Rs 2,948 (up 2.5%).

Meanwhile, the BSE HEALTHCARE Index is at 18,902 (up 1.2%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE HEALTHCARE Index today are TORRENT PHARMA (up 2.5%) and DR. REDDYS LAB (up 0.1%).

JUBILANT LIFE SCIENCES and PFIZER (down 0.3%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, TORRENT PHARMA has moved up from Rs 1,670 to Rs 2,948, registering a gain of Rs 1,278 (up 75.6%).

The BSE HEALTHCARE has moved up from 12,442 to 18,902, registering a gain of 6,460 points (up 51.4%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE HEALTHCARE Index stocks during this same period were GRANULES INDIA (up 261.7%), LAURUS LABS LTD (up 226.5%) and IPCA LABS (up 106.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 38,004 (up 0.8%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are ONGC (up 2.5%), TCS (up 1.7%) and HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up 1.7%). Other gainers include BAJAJ FINANCE (up 1.6%) and ASIAN PAINTS (up 1.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and ONGC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,204 (up 0.8%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include ZEE ENTERTAINMENT (up 3.3%), GAIL (up 2.9%) and ONGC (up 2.4%). Other gainers include GRASIM (up 1.9%) and ASIAN PAINTS (up 1.7%).

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 36,700 to 38,004, registering a gain of 1,304 points (up 3.4%).

TORRENT PHARMA Financial Update...

TORRENT PHARMA net profit stood at Rs 3 billion for the quarter ended June 2020, compared to a profit of Rs 3 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 4.6% to Rs 20.6 billion during the period as against Rs 19.7 billion in April-June 2019.

For the year ended March 2019, TORRENT PHARMA reported 17.0% increase in net profit to Rs 7.9 billion compared to net profit of Rs 6.8 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 29.0% to Rs 77 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of TORRENT PHARMA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 43.9x.
