Indian Stock Market Updates August 21, 2020

GMR INFRA Share Price Up by 11%; BSE 500 Index Up 0.8%

GMR INFRA share price has zoomed 11% and is presently trading at Rs 25.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 15,032 (up 0.8%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE 500 Index today are GMR INFRA (up 11.5%) and V-MART RETAIL (up 10.7%).

BRITANNIA and APOLLO HOSPITALS are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, GMR INFRA has moved up from Rs 15 to Rs 25, registering a gain of Rs 10 (up 63.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE 500 has moved up from 14,194 to 15,032, registering a gain of 838 points (up 5.7%) during the last 12 months.

The top buzzing stocks among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 727.2%), DIXON TECHNOLOGIES (up 266.1%) and ESSEL PROPACK (up 242.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 38,580 (up 0.7%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are NTPC (up 5.4%), POWER GRID (up 4.4%) and ASIAN PAINTS (up 3.6%). Other gainers include HDFC BANK (up 2.6%) and NESTLE (up 2.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are NTPC and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,418 (up 0.8%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include NTPC (up 5.9%), POWER GRID (up 4.4%) and ASIAN PAINTS (up 4.1%). Other gainers include NESTLE (up 2.8%) and HDFC BANK (up 2.5%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 37,328 to 38,580, registering a gain of 1,252 points (up 3.13%).

GMR INFRA Financial Update...

GMR INFRA net profit declined 22.7% YoY to Rs 3 billion for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 4 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 12.2% to Rs 22.0 billion during the period as against Rs 19.6 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2018, GMR INFRA reported 266.4% increase in net profit to Rs 6.5 billion compared to net profit of Rs 1.8 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 8.7% to Rs 87 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of GMR INFRA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 4.2x.
