Indian Stock Market Updates September 21, 2020

M&M Share Price Down by 5%; BSE AUTO Index Down 4.2%

M&M share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 666.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO Index is at 18,490 (down 4.2%).

Among the top losers in the BSE AUTO Index today are M&M (down 5.3%) and BALKRISHNA INDUSTRIES (down 5.9%).

Over the last one year, M&M has moved up from Rs 522 to Rs 666, registering a gain of Rs 144 (up 27.6%)..

The BSE AUTO has moved up from 15,783 to 18,490, registering a gain of 2,707 points (up 17.2%) during the last 12 months.

The top buzzing stocks among the BSE AUTO Index stocks during this same period were BALKRISHNA INDUSTRIES (up 75.7%), EICHER MOTOR (up 28.9%) and ASHOK LEYLAND (up 23.5%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 38,991 (down 2.3%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TCS (up 0.8%), KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK (up 0.5%) and INFOSYS (up 0.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are INFOSYS and KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,535 (down 2.5%). TCS (up 0.7%) and INFOSYS (up 0.5%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 36,481 to 38,991, registering a gain of 2,510 points (up 4.06%).

M&M Financial Update...

M&M net profit down at Rs 1 billion for the quarter ended June 2020, compared to a loss of Rs 3 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 54.6% to Rs 56.0 billion during the period as against Rs 123.5 billion in April-June 2019.

For the year ended March 2019, M&M reported 4.8% increase in net profit to Rs 44.3 billion compared to net profit of Rs 42.2 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 12.3% to Rs 1,047 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of M&M, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 77.4x.
