Indian Stock Market Updates September 29, 2020

PERSISTENT SYSTEMS at All Time High; BSE IT Index Up 1.1%

PERSISTENT SYSTEMS share price has hit an all-time high at Rs 1,325 (up 0.4%).

Meanwhile, the BSE IT Index is at 20,080 (up 1.1%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE IT Index today are PERSISTENT SYSTEMS (up 0.4%) and ORACLE FINANCIAL (up 0.9%).

MPHASIS (down 0.3%) and TAKE SOLUTIONS (down 0.5%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, PERSISTENT SYSTEMS has moved up from Rs 570 to Rs 1,325, registering a gain of Rs 755 (up 124.5%).

The BSE IT has moved up from 15,481 to 20,080, registering a gain of 4,599 points (up 29.7%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE IT Index stocks during this same period were PERSISTENT SYSTEMS (up 124.5%), TATA ELXSI (up 97.5%) and INFIBEAM AVENUES (up 90.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 38,234 (up 0.6%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are ASIAN PAINTS (up 1.8%), TCS (up 1.8%) and ULTRATECH CEMENT (up 1.5%). Other gainers include BAJAJ AUTO (up 1.5%) and TATA STEEL (up 1.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and NTPC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,305 (up 0.6%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include HERO MOTOCORP (up 3.3%), SHREE CEMENT (up 2.2%) and HINDALCO (up 2.1%). Other gainers include ULTRATECH CEMENT (up 2.1%) and ADANI PORTS & SEZ (up 1.9%).

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 38,594 to 38,234, registering a loss of -360 points (up -1.0%).

PERSISTENT SYSTEMS Financial Update...

PERSISTENT SYSTEMS net profit stood at Rs 900 million for the quarter ended June 2020, compared to a profit of Rs 879 million a year ago. Net Sales rose 7.4% to Rs 9.9 billion during the period as against Rs 9.2 billion in April-June 2019.

For the year ended March 2018, PERSISTENT SYSTEMS reported 3.3% increase in net profit to Rs 3.2 billion compared to net profit of Rs 3.1 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 5.4% to Rs 30 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of PERSISTENT SYSTEMS, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 29.5x.
