Indian Stock Market Updates October 12, 2020

L&T INFOTECH Share Price Up by 10%; BSE IT Index Up 1.5%

L&T INFOTECH share price has zoomed 10% and is presently trading at Rs 3,240.

Meanwhile, the BSE IT Index is at 22,355 (up 1.5%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE IT Index today is L&T INFOTECH (up 10.4%).

FIRSTSOURCE SOL. (down 0.4%) and ORACLE FINANCIAL (down 0.6%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, L&T INFOTECH has moved up from Rs 1,501 to Rs 3,240, registering a gain of Rs 1,739 (up 115.5%).

On the other hand, the BSE IT has moved up from 15,240 to 22,355, registering a gain of 7,115 points (up 46.5%) during the last 12 months.

The top buzzing stocks among the BSE IT Index stocks during this same period were TATA ELXSI (up 131.1%), PERSISTENT SYSTEMS (up 127.2%) and INFIBEAM AVENUES (up 118.5%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 40,905 (up 0.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are ITC (up 2.7%), INFOSYS (up 2.2%) and ASIAN PAINTS (up 1.4%). Other gainers include HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up 1.1%) and POWER GRID (up 1.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ITC and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 12,022 (up 0.1%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include ITC (up 2.7%), INFOSYS (up 2.2%) and UPL (up 1.9%). Other gainers include CIPLA (up 1.9%) and DR. REDDYS LAB (up 1.6%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 38,178 to 40,905, registering a gain of 2,727 points (up 6.34%).

L&T INFOTECH Financial Update...

L&T INFOTECH net profit stood at Rs 4 billion for the quarter ended March 2020, compared to a profit of Rs 4 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 7.1% to Rs 30.1 billion during the period as against Rs 28.1 billion in January-March 2019.

For the year ended March 2019, L&T INFOTECH reported 36.2% increase in net profit to Rs 15.2 billion compared to net profit of Rs 11.1 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 29.3% to Rs 94 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of L&T INFOTECH, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 36.9x.
