TORRENT POWER Share Price Up by 5%; BSE POWER Index Up 2.1%

TORRENT POWER share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 326.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER Index is at 1,680 (up 2.1%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE POWER Index today are TORRENT POWER (up 5.3%) and KEC INTERNATIONAL (up 5.5%).

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,940 (down 0.4%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include NTPC (up 2.9%), BHARTI AIRTEL (up 2.8%) and BAJAJ FINANCE (up 2.5%). Other gainers include TATA MOTORS (up 2.5%) and IOC (up 2.2%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 38,964 to 40,722, registering a gain of 1,758 points (up 4.09%).

TORRENT POWER Financial Update...

TORRENT POWER net profit down at Rs 4 billion for the quarter ended June 2020, compared to a loss of Rs 4 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 2.3% to Rs 30.1 billion during the period as against Rs 30.8 billion in April-June 2019.

For the year ended March 2018, TORRENT POWER reported 121.5% increase in net profit to Rs 9.5 billion compared to net profit of Rs 4.3 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 15.1% to Rs 115 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of TORRENT POWER, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 12.1x.
