GAIL Share Price Up by 5%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 3.2%

GAIL share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 88.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS Index is at 12,267 (up 3.2%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS Index today are GAIL (up 5.3%) and HPCL (up 9.9%).

PETRONET LNG (down 0.3%) and CASTROL INDIA (down 1.5%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, GAIL has moved down from Rs 137 to Rs 88, registering a loss of Rs 49 (down 35.9%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS has moved down from 15,669 to 12,267, loss of 3,402 points (down 21.7%) during the last 12 months.

The top buzzing stocks among the BSE OIL & GAS Index stocks during this same period were RELIANCE IND. (up 35.3%) and INDRAPRASTHA GAS (up 7.5%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 41,360 (up 1.8%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are INDUSIND BANK (up 5.8%), SBI (up 5.7%) and TATA STEEL (up 5.6%). Other gainers include BAJAJ FINANCE (up 5.0%) and BAJAJ FINSERV (up 4.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are POWER GRID and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 12,128 (up 1.8%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include HINDALCO (up 6.2%), INDUSIND BANK (up 6.0%) and SBI (up 5.8%). Other gainers include TATA STEEL (up 5.4%) and BPCL (up 5.3%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 40,302 to 41,360, registering a gain of 1,058 points (up 2.58%).

GAIL Financial Update...

GAIL net profit down at Rs 3 billion for the quarter ended June 2020, compared to a loss of Rs 13 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 32.0% to Rs 120.9 billion during the period as against Rs 177.7 billion in April-June 2019.

For the year ended March 2019, GAIL reported 24.3% increase in net profit to Rs 57.8 billion compared to net profit of Rs 46.5 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 39.4% to Rs 762 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of GAIL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 7.1x.
