Indian Stock Market Updates August 17, 2018

FORCE MOTORS Surges by 5%; BSE AUTO Index Up 0.9%

FORCE MOTORS share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 2,599.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO Index is at 24,516 (up 0.9%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE AUTO Index today is FORCE MOTORS (up 5.1%).

BAJAJ AUTO (down 0.2%) and TVS MOTORS (down 0.4%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, FORCE MOTORS has moved down from Rs 3,921 to Rs 2,599, registering a loss of Rs 1,322 (down 33.9%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO has moved up from 23,987 to 24,516, registering a gain of 529 points (up 2.1%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE AUTO Index stocks during this same period were EXIDE INDUSTRIES (up 41.0%), M&M (up 40.4%) and ASHOK LEYLAND (up 22.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 37,977 (up 0.8%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TATA STEEL (up 2.6%), KOTAK MAH. BANK (up 2.2%) and VEDANTA LTD (up 2.2%). Other gainers include ADANI PORTS & SEZ (up 2.0%) and YES BANK (up 1.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SUN PHARMA and ITC LTD.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,478 (up 0.8%). LUPIN LTD (up 3.1%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 31,771 to 37,977, registering a gain of 6,206 points (up 19.5%).

FORCE MOTORS Financial Update...

FORCE MOTORS net profit stood at Rs 409 million for the quarter ended June 2018, compared to a profit of Rs 146 million a year ago. Net Sales rose 18.8% to Rs 8.9 billion during the period as against Rs 7.5 billion in April-June 2017.

For the year ended March 2016, FORCE MOTORS reported 76.8% increase in net profit to Rs 1.8 billion compared to net profit of Rs 1.0 billion during FY15.

Revenue of the company grew 32.1% to Rs 35 billion during FY16.

The current Price to earnings ratio of FORCE MOTORS, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 21.6x.
