Steve Jobs' Favourite Book, Equitymaster Conference 2016, and More
Jan 27, 2016

Before I begin today, I just want to say what a pleasure it was to meet so many of you at the Equitymaster Conference on Saturday at the Taj.

I was happy for the chance to discuss Megatrends, asset allocation, and past recommendations (some good, some not so good) with you.

Readers told me stories of deceitful promoters they'd encountered...and how much they look forward to Equitymaster's views. It was a reminder that, amidst all the noise, investors are starved for unbiased opinion. Indeed, it was vindication for what Equitymaster set out to do 20 years back.

For those who couldn't make it, I strongly recommend you to listen to Bill Bonner's and Ajit Dayal's views on global risks and the 'Modi-fied' India. I doubt retail investors will find such a holistic approach to all the factors that can impact their investments anywhere else.

I will come to my and Rahul Shah's views on the Modified India Consumption Story in just a bit.

But first I want to tell you about a book a colleague recently recommended to me.

Turns out its one of Steve Jobs' top-nine favourite books and the only business book to make the list. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos makes all his executives read it. The Economist called it one of the six-most important business books of all time. Forbes included it in their list of the 20 most influential business books of the last 20 years.
