No Need to Rush in a Megatrend

Buying stocks can have multiple objectives. And your objectives should determine the kind of stocks you buy, how long you hold them, and your sell criteria.

Perhaps you recall my write-up about India being in the second innings of an economic Megatrend. That was back in 2014. I called it Megatrend 2.0 because it is the second phase of the Megatrend that began in India in 1991 and lasted for almost a decade. My point was that Megatrends impact corporate profits in a big way. That's why we started The India Letter - to profit from stocks that are best poised to gain from the economic Megatrend in the decades to come.

If an economic Megatrend is your investment thesis, you must know whether and how well the trends are playing out. And you may have to be very patient buying and selling stocks during the different phases of the Megatrend.
