Stocks to Buy When the Market Gets Stuck
May 4, 2018

The market is stuck. At least that's what it looks like to me.

At the start of the year, our Sensex 40,000 call seemed trivial and inevitable. The Sensex was just 10% away from the landmark at the end of January.

They say a week is a long time in politics. I would say...a day is a long time in the markets. The sentiment changed the day the Union Budget was presented. The market fell 10% in less than two months.

But that wasn't much of a correction. The Sensex is nearly back to its all-time high. It's less than 4% away. So, the question arises... What happens now?

US interest rates are going up. Trade wars have begun. Crude oil prices are rising. Foreign investors are selling.

But the markets don't seem to be worried.

Sarvajeet worried about this in a recent issue of The 5 Minute WrapUp.

My view is that the market isn't going anywhere. At least not until we have some positive trigger event.

The trigger could be anything...like Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un signing a peace treaty. It could happen. You never know. They're due to meet in a few weeks.

Or the BJP winning the Karnataka state elections. I have my doubts but it's possible.
