What is the price of BSE oil and gas index live today?

The S&P BSE OIL & GAS last traded at 28,598.5. It was up 1.0% over its previous close.

Within the BSE Oil & Gas, the top gainers were GAIL (up 3.9%) and PETRONET LNG (up 1.3%). On the other hand, RELIANCE IND. (down 0.6%) and ADANI TOTAL GAS (down 0.5%) were among the top losers.

The BSE oil and gas index is a collection of stocks and not a security that is traded on any stock exchange. Hence, we cannot buy it directly.

Well, it depends on what your goals are.

However, these two indices are considered to be too narrow by some, since they only track 30 and 50 stocks, respectively.

For broader tracking, you could use the BSE 200, BSE 500 or even the NSE 500 index.
