However, these two indices are considered to be too narrow by some, since they only track 30 and 50 stocks, respectively.
For broader tracking, you could use the BSE 200, BSE 500 or even the NSE 500 index.
Some popular market cap based indices include BSE Smallcap index and BSE Midcap index among others.

It depends on one's specific interests and investment goals.
