Indian equity markets closed in the green today. The BSE Sensex closed higher by 263 points while NSE Nifty closed higher by 76 points.

Banking stocks lead the gains

Banking stocks lead the gains. BSE Sensex is trading up 70 points and the NSE Nifty is trading up 19 points. Hindalco and Sesa Sterlite are amongst the stocks leading the gainers. Among the stocks leading the losses are Dr Reddys Lab and Sun Pharma.

Indian share markets opened the day on a firm note. The Sensex today is trading higher by around 41 points. Among the stocks leading the gains are Hindalco and GAIL (India) Ltd
