Dividend paying stocks are currently more appealing than they have been in a very long time.

As markets remain volatile, investors are now looking for a passive source of income. This rise in demand has returned investors to follow the concept of dividend investing.

Here are 3 stocks you can add to your watchlist, which are paying dividend in October 2022.

#1 Accelya Solutions

First on the list we have Accelya Solutions India (formerly Accelya Kale), a software solutions provider to the global airline and travel industry.

The company has a large global footprint with operations spread across 11 countries. It accounts for and manages more than 5 bn financial transactions and 75 m tons of cargo annually. It caters to more than 250 airline customers, travel agents, and shippers worldwide.

The company partners with airlines right from the time a ticket or an airway bill is issued, all the way through its entire life cycle until the data is converted into actionable decision support.

It derives a large chunk of its revenues from the airline vertical, which makes it a big beneficiary as economy reopens. With strategic partnership and alliances with established associations, the company caters to a niche segment.

The company follows a June 2022 year, and in the year gone by, it has declared two dividends (one interim and one final).

In February this year, Accelya declared an interim dividend of Rs 17 per share which was paid out to shareholders who had the stock in their portfolio as of 4 February 2022.

On 3 August 2022, the company declared a final dividend to the tune of Rs 45 per share (450% on face value). The record date for payout of the final dividend is 10 October 2022. The stock will trade ex-dividend on 6 October 2022, i.e. today.

#2 Jai Corp

Jai Corp, incorporated in 1985, is engaged in the manufacturing businesses of steel, plastic processing, and spinning yarn. Over 90% of the company's revenues come from the plastic processing segment, followed by spinning and steel segments.

The smallcap stock has recently made it to news and has almost doubled in share price from its June 2022 lows.

The reason?

Recently, there were talks that the government will make policy for companies operating in the special economic zones (SEZ) segment more attractive. The policy approval was expected in September, but there's no recent development.

The rally can also be attributed to the company's first quarter performance when revenues and profits both improved.

Coming to dividend, on 25 May 2022, the company declared a final dividend of Rs 0.5 per share (50% on face value). The record date for payout of the final dividend is 25 October 2022. The stock will trade ex-dividend on 20 October 2022.

The stock has remained under pressure this year. On account of the uncertain nature of the pandemic and lockdown orders by the government, the quantum of business sourced by ICICI Lombard has been below the level of business done had there been no lockdown.

In financial year 2022, the company reported a relatively higher underwriting loss due to the elevated loss ratio in the health & personal accident segment.
