ALKEM LABORATORIES Share Price Down by 5%; BSE HEALTHCARE Index Down 2.3%

ALKEM LABORATORIES share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 2,878.

Meanwhile, the BSE HEALTHCARE Index is at 21,410 (down 2.3%).

Among the top losers in the BSE HEALTHCARE Index today are ALKEM LABORATORIES (down 5.0%) and SHILPA MEDICARE (down 5.2%).

ERIS LIFESCIENCES (up 3.0%) and AJANTA PHARMA (up 1.6%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, ALKEM LABORATORIES has moved up from Rs 2,620 to Rs 2,878, registering a gain of Rs 258 (up 9.8%)..

The BSE HEALTHCARE has moved up from 14,200 to 21,410, registering a gain of 7,210 points (up 50.8%) during the last 12 months.

The top buzzing stocks among the BSE HEALTHCARE Index stocks during this same period were LAURUS LABS (up 317.1%), J.B.CHEMICALS (up 103.3%) and CIPLA (up 80.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 50,986 (down 2.4%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TATA STEEL (up 1.4%), ONGC (up 0.9%) and KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK (up 0.5%). Other gainer include HDFC BANK (up 0.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ONGC and TATA STEEL.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 15,010 (down 2.3%). JSW STEEL (up 2.9%) and ADANI PORTS & SEZ (up 2.8%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 40,894 to 50,986, registering a gain of 10,092 points (up 21.46%).

ALKEM LABORATORIES Financial Update...

ALKEM LABORATORIES net profit stood at Rs 5 billion for the quarter ended September 2020, compared to a profit of Rs 4 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 8.3% to Rs 23.6 billion during the period as against Rs 21.8 billion in July-September 2019.

For the year ended March 2020, ALKEM LABORATORIES reported 48.6% increase in net profit to Rs 11.5 billion compared to net profit of Rs 7.7 billion during FY19.

Revenue of the company grew 13.4% to Rs 83 billion during FY20.

The current Price to earnings ratio of ALKEM LABORATORIES, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 22.0x.
