Indian Stock Market Updates January 19, 2021

BSE Sensex Surges 689 Points; BAJAJ FINSERV Among Top Gainers

The BSE Sensex has surged 689 points to 49,253 (up 1.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE Sensex today are BAJAJ FINSERV (up 4.7%), BAJAJ FINANCE (up 4.5%) and L&T (up 2.6%). Other gainers include ASIAN PAINTS (up 2.4%) and RELIANCE IND. (up 2.3%).

TECH MAHINDRA (down 0.9%) is among the top loser today.

In the meantime, the NSE Nifty Index is up 187 points to 14,478 (up 1.3%).

The top gainers in the NSE Nifty Index include include BAJAJ FINSERV (up 5.1%), GRASIM (up 3.7%) and TATA MOTORS (up 3.1%). Other gainers include L&T (up 2.6%) and ASIAN PAINTS (up 2.5%).

Over the last one year, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 41,873 to 49,253, registering a gain of 7,380 points (up 17.5%)..

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks during this same period were INFOSYS (up 71.8%), HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up 64.8%) and TCS (up 45.9%).

Which stocks contributed the most to the BSE Sensex?

The biggest contributors to the gain in the Sensex today were BAJAJ FINSERV and BAJAJ FINANCE.

Among the other contributors were L&T and ASIAN PAINTS.
