HDFC BANK at 52 Week High; BSE 500 Index Down 0.2%

HDFC BANK share price has hit a 52-week high at Rs 1,498 (up 1.7%).

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 18,994 (down 0.2%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE 500 Index today are HDFC BANK (up 1.7%) and GSK CONSUMER (up 5.1%).

CORPORATION BANK (down 3.9%) and HATHWAY CABLE (down 3.8%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, HDFC BANK has moved up from Rs 1,289 to Rs 1,498, registering a gain of Rs 208 (up 15.70%).

The BSE 500 has moved up from 15,997 to 18,994, registering a gain of 2,997 points (up 18.3%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were LAURUS LABS (up 357.7%), DIXON TECHNOLOGIES (up 262.6%) and SUZLON ENERGY (up 196.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 49,122 (down 0.1%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are HDFC BANK (up 1.7%), SBI (up 1.5%) and ASIAN PAINTS (up 0.7%). Other gainers include HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up 0.7%) and TITAN (up 0.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and HDFC BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 14,459 (down 0.1%). UPL (up 2.6%) and HDFC BANK (up 1.7%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 41,953 to 49,122, registering a gain of 7,169 points (up 16.8%).

HDFC BANK Financial Update...

HDFC BANK net profit stood at Rs 75 billion for the quarter ended September 2020, compared to a profit of Rs 74 billion a year ago. Operating income rose 2.1% to Rs 299.8 billion during the period as against Rs 293.7 billion in July-September 2019.

For the year ended March 2020, HDFC BANK reported 22.5% increase in net profit to Rs 272.1 billion compared to net profit of Rs 222.2 billion during FY19.

Revenue of the company grew 16.2% to Rs 1,222 billion during FY20.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HDFC BANK, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 28.7x.
