The BSE AUTO Index Down 2% ; MOTHERSON SUMI Among Top Losers

The BSE AUTO Index has plunged 2% to 23,377.

Among the top losers in the BSE AUTO Index today are MOTHERSON SUMI (down 5.7%), MARUTI SUZUKI (down 3.5%) and M&M (down 3.5%). Other losers include BHARAT FORGE (down 3.2%) and EICHER MOTOR (down 3.0%).

CUMMINS INDIA (up 1.0%) is among the top gainer today.

Over the last one year, the BSE AUTO Index has moved down from 24,652 to 23,377, loss of Rs 1,275 (down 5.2%).

The top losers among the BSE AUTO during this same period were TATA MOTORS (down 39.9%), CUMMINS INDIA (down 24.0%) and MOTHERSON SUMI (down 23.4%).

What about the Benchmark Indices?

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex has plunged 0.6% to 36,946.

Among the top gainers in the BSE Sensex today are VEDANTA LTD (up 2.6%), COAL INDIA (up 2.6%) and INFOSYS LTD (up 2.3%). Other gainers include ONGC (up 2.1%) and NTPC (up 1.9%).

The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are YES BANK and SBI.

In the meantime, the NSE Nifty is at 11,170 (down 0.5%).
