GUJARAT ALKALIES Plunges by 5%; BSE 500 Index Down 0.4%

GUJARAT ALKALIES share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 620.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 14,666 (down 0.4%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are GUJARAT ALKALIES (down 5.5%) and VENKYS (I) LIMITED (down 6.2%).

BAJAJ ELECTRICALS (up 3.4%) and INDIAN BANK (up 3.1%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, GUJARAT ALKALIES has moved up from Rs 543 to Rs 620, registering a gain of Rs 77 (up 14.2%)..

The BSE 500 has moved up from 13,488 to 14,666, registering a gain of 1,178 points (up 8.7%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were HEG LTD (up 278.7%), SONATA SOFTWARE (up 153.5%) and L&T INFOTECH LTD (up 147.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 36,552 (up 0.1%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are SBI (up 2.0%), HDFC (up 1.8%) and WIPRO (up 1.5%). Other gainers include ASIAN PAINTS (up 1.4%) and ADANI PORTS & SEZ (up 1.2%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and ITC LTD.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,034 . SBI (up 2.0%) and WIPRO (up 1.8%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 31,160 to 36,552, registering a gain of 5,392 points (up 16.7%).

GUJARAT ALKALIES Financial Update...

GUJARAT ALKALIES net profit stood at Rs 2 billion for the quarter ended June 2018, compared to a profit of Rs 1 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 21.9% to Rs 7.5 billion during the period as against Rs 6.2 billion in April-June 2017.

For the year ended March 2018, GUJARAT ALKALIES reported 73.5% increase in net profit to Rs 5.4 billion compared to net profit of Rs 3.1 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 9.2% to Rs 25 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of GUJARAT ALKALIES, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 6.8x.
