ADANI POWER Plunges by 5%; BSE POWER Index Down 0.9%

ADANI POWER share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 24.
Meanwhile, the BSE POWER Index is at 1,938 (down 0.9%).
Among the top losers in the BSE POWER Index today are ADANI POWER (down 5.5%) and SUZLON ENERGY (down 7.5%).
PTC INDIA LTD (up 0.7%) and NTPC (up 0.3%) are among the top gainers today.
Over the last one year, ADANI POWER has moved down from Rs 29 to Rs 24, registering a loss of Rs 5 (down 17.5%)..
The BSE POWER has moved down from 2,189 to 1,938, loss of 251 points (down 11.5%) during the last 12 months.
The top gainers among the BSE POWER Index stocks during this same period were TORRENT POWER LTD (up 4.3%), ADANI TRANSMISSION (up 3.9%) and NTPC (up 0.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?
The BSE Sensex is at 36,292 (down 0.3%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are INFOSYS LTD (up 1.0%), ICICI BANK (up 0.9%) and TCS (up 0.9%). Other gainers include ASIAN PAINTS (up 0.9%) and HDFC BANK (up 0.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ICICI BANK and SBI.
In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,932 (down 0.4%). BHARTI INFRATEL (up 2.3%) and TCS (up 1.6%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.
Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 31,282 to 36,292, registering a gain of 5,010 points (up 15.4%).
ADANI POWER Financial Update...
ADANI POWER net profit declined 36.1% YoY to Rs 8 billion for the quarter ended June 2018, compared to a loss of Rs 13 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 20.9% to Rs 38.3 billion during the period as against Rs 48.4 billion in April-June 2017.
For the year ended March 2017, ADANI POWER reported 480.8% decrease in net profit to Rs 21.0 billion compared to net profit of Rs 5.5 billion during FY16.
Revenue of the company grew 10.8% to Rs 228 billion during FY17.
The current Price to earnings ratio of ADANI POWER, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 3.5x.
