ADANI POWER Surges by 5%; BSE POWER Index Down 0.9%

ADANI POWER share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 35.
Meanwhile, the BSE POWER Index is at 1,922 (down 0.9%).
Among the top Gainers in the BSE POWER Index today is ADANI POWER (up 5.3%).
PTC INDIA LTD (down 0.2%) and SIEMENS (down 0.3%) are among the top losers today.
Over the last one year, ADANI POWER has moved up from Rs 30 to Rs 35, registering a gain of Rs 5 (up 14.9%).
On the other hand, the BSE POWER has moved down from 2,328 to 1,922, loss of 406 points (down 18.0%) during the last 12 months.
The top gainers among the BSE POWER Index stocks during this same period were ADANI POWER (up 14.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?
The BSE Sensex is at 33,777 (down 0.7%).
The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TATA MOTORS (up 2.6%), RELIANCE IND. (up 1.7%) and BAJAJ AUTO (up 1.7%). Other gainers include HERO MOTOCORP (up 1.4%) and HDFC (up 1.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are TATA MOTORS and VEDANTA LTD.
In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,129 (down 0.7%). UPL LIMITED (up 3.6%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.
Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 33,042 to 33,777, registering a gain of 735 points (up 1.2%).
ADANI POWER Financial Update...
ADANI POWER net profit declined 36.1% YoY to Rs 8 billion for the quarter ended June 2018, compared to a loss of Rs 13 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 20.9% to Rs 38.3 billion during the period as against Rs 48.4 billion in April-June 2017.
For the year ended March 2017, ADANI POWER reported 480.8% decrease in net profit to Rs 21.0 billion compared to net profit of Rs 5.5 billion during FY16.
Revenue of the company grew 10.8% to Rs 228 billion during FY17.
The current Price to earnings ratio of ADANI POWER, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 5.4x.
