Indian Stock Market Updates August 26, 2019

NOCIL Surges by 11%; BSE 500 Index Up 2.0%

NOCIL share price has zoomed 11% and is presently trading at Rs 88.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 14,220 (up 2.0%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE 500 Index today are NOCIL (up 10.6%) and SUPREME PETR (up 10.7%).

BHARAT FORGE and KAVERI SEED (down 0.1%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, NOCIL has moved down from Rs 177 to Rs 88, registering a loss of Rs 89 (down 50.7%).

On the other hand, the BSE 500 has moved down from 15,664 to 14,220, loss of 1,444 points (down 9.2%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI POWER (up 85.6%), SPICEJET (up 63.2%) and INTERGLOBE AVIATION (INDIGO) (up 59.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 37,544 (up 2.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are YES BANK (up 5.6%), HDFC (up 5.3%) and BAJAJ FINANCE (up 4.9%). Other gainers include HDFC BANK (up 4.3%) and ICICI BANK (up 4.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are YES BANK and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,070 (up 2.1%). ADANI PORTS & SEZ (up 5.6%) and YES BANK (up 5.5%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 38,337 to 37,544, registering a gain of -793 points (up -2.1%).

NOCIL Financial Update...

NOCIL net profit down at Rs 327 million for the quarter ended June 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 446 million a year ago. Net Sales declined 12.1% to Rs 2.3 billion during the period as against Rs 2.6 billion in April-June 2018.

For the year ended March 2018, NOCIL reported 75.0% increase in net profit to Rs 1.7 billion compared to net profit of Rs 971.0 million during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 20.9% to Rs 10 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of NOCIL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 8.7x.
