VODAFONE IDEA Plunges by 5%; BSE 500 Index Up 0.5%

VODAFONE IDEA share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 6.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 14,339 (up 0.5%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are VODAFONE IDEA (down 5.1%) and SHILPA MEDICARE (down 6.2%).

BOMBAY DYEING (up 16.3%) and NBCC (INDIA) LTD (up 10.9%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, VODAFONE IDEA has moved down from Rs 31 to Rs 6, registering a loss of Rs 25 (down 81.6%)..

The BSE 500 has moved down from 15,796 to 14,339, loss of 1,457 points (down 9.2%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI POWER (up 80.0%), SPICEJET (up 58.8%) and INTERGLOBE AVIATION (INDIGO) (up 57.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 37,732 (up 0.1%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TATA MOTORS (up 7.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are YES BANK and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,142 (up 0.3%). TATA MOTORS (up 7.2%) and BRITANNIA (up 6.4%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 38,694 to 37,732, registering a gain of -962 points (up -3.0%).

VODAFONE IDEA Financial Update...

VODAFONE IDEA net profit down at Rs 49 billion for the quarter ended June 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 50 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 4.2% to Rs 112.7 billion during the period as against Rs 117.6 billion in April-June 2018.

For the year ended March 2018, VODAFONE IDEA reported 446.6% increase in net profit to Rs 44.9 billion compared to net profit of Rs 8.2 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 20.5% to Rs 283 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of VODAFONE IDEA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 0.2x.
