TATA POWER Surges by 5%; BSE POWER Index Up 0.4%

TATA POWER share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 64.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER Index is at 1,939 (up 0.4%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE POWER Index today are TATA POWER (up 5.1%) and SUZLON ENERGY (up 5.6%).

NTPC (down 0.4%) and POWER GRID (down 0.6%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, TATA POWER has moved down from Rs 74 to Rs 64, registering a loss of Rs 10 (down 13.3%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER has moved down from 2,044 to 1,939, loss of 105 points (down 5.1%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER Index stocks during this same period were ADANI POWER (up 114.5%), KALPATARU POWER (up 38.7%) and ADANI TRANSMISSION (up 29.5%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 37,435 (up 0.4%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are ICICI BANK (up 3.0%), TATA STEEL (up 2.5%) and INDUSIND BANK (up 2.5%). Other gainers include ONGC (up 1.9%) and HDFC (up 1.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are TATA STEEL and ICICI BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,082 (up 0.3%). INDIABULLS HOU. FIN. (up 3.3%) and ICICI BANK (up 3.0%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 37,413 to 37,435, registering a gain of 22 points .

TATA POWER Financial Update...

TATA POWER net profit stood at Rs 2 billion for the quarter ended June 2019, compared to a profit of Rs 1 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 0.8% to Rs 77.7 billion during the period as against Rs 77.1 billion in April-June 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, TATA POWER reported 1884.3% decrease in net profit to Rs 4.7 billion compared to net profit of Rs 262.0 million during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 10.1% to Rs 296 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of TATA POWER, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 37.4x.
