BRITANNIA Surges by 19%; BSE 500 Index Up 2.4%

BRITANNIA share price has zoomed 19% and is presently trading at Rs 3,444.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 15,097 (up 2.4%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE 500 Index today are BRITANNIA (up 19.3%) and ASHOK LEYLAND (up 17.5%).

GSK PHARMA (down 0.1%) and PFIZER (down 0.2%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, BRITANNIA has moved up from Rs 2,890 to Rs 3,444, registering a gain of Rs 554 (up 18.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE 500 has moved up from 14,945 to 15,097, registering a gain of 152 points (up 0.3%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI POWER (up 147.0%), INTERGLOBE AVIATION (INDIGO) (up 94.5%) and VINATI ORGANICS (up 73.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 39,346 (up 2.4%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are ITC (up 8.3%), INDUSIND BANK (up 6.2%) and L&T (up 6.1%). Other gainers include MARUTI SUZUKI (up 5.1%) and M&M (up 5.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are YES BANK and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,666 (up 2.8%). L&T (up 8.5%) and ITC (up 7.9%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 36,842 to 39,346, registering a gain of 2,504 points (up 5.7%).

BRITANNIA Financial Update...

BRITANNIA net profit down at Rs 2 billion for the quarter ended June 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 3 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 5.0% to Rs 27.0 billion during the period as against Rs 28.4 billion in April-June 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, BRITANNIA reported 15.1% increase in net profit to Rs 11.6 billion compared to net profit of Rs 10.0 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 10.8% to Rs 110 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BRITANNIA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 36.3x.
