TORRENT PHARMA Plunges by 7%; BSE HEALTHCARE Index Down 0.2%

TORRENT PHARMA share price has plunged 7% and is presently trading at Rs 1,554.

Meanwhile, the BSE HEALTHCARE Index is at 12,060 (down 0.2%).

Among the top losers in the BSE HEALTHCARE Index today is TORRENT PHARMA (down 6.7%).

CADILA HEALTHCARE (up 3.6%) and ASTRAZENECA PHARMA (up 2.8%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, TORRENT PHARMA has moved down from Rs 1,595 to Rs 1,554, registering a loss of Rs 41 (down 2.6%)..

The BSE HEALTHCARE has moved down from 14,414 to 12,060, loss of 2,354 points (down 16.3%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE HEALTHCARE Index stocks during this same period were PROCTER & GAMBLE HEALTH (up 62.3%), ABBOTT INDIA (up 55.8%) and ASTRAZENECA PHARMA (up 41.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 38,130 (down 0.3%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are BHARTI AIRTEL (up 0.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are BAJAJ AUTO and COAL INDIA.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,280 (down 0.3%). GRASIM (up 1.4%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 34,299 to 38,130, registering a gain of 3,831 points (up 10.9%).

TORRENT PHARMA Financial Update...

TORRENT PHARMA net profit down at Rs 2 billion for the quarter ended June 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 2 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 1.4% to Rs 20.2 billion during the period as against Rs 20.5 billion in April-June 2018.

For the year ended March 2018, TORRENT PHARMA reported 27.4% decrease in net profit to Rs 6.8 billion compared to net profit of Rs 9.3 billion during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 2.5% to Rs 60 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of TORRENT PHARMA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 53.8x.
