RELIANCE POWER Surges by 10%; BSE POWER Index Up 0.2%

RELIANCE POWER share price has zoomed 10% and is presently trading at Rs 4.
Meanwhile, the BSE POWER Index is at 2,005 (up 0.2%).
Among the top Gainers in the BSE POWER Index today is RELIANCE POWER (up 9.9%).
ADANI POWER (down 0.1%) and TORRENT POWER LTD (down 0.2%) are among the top losers today.
Over the last one year, RELIANCE POWER has moved down from Rs 27 to Rs 4, registering a loss of Rs 23 (down 86.3%).
On the other hand, the BSE POWER has moved up from 1,945 to 2,005, registering a gain of 60 points (up 3.1%) during the last 12 months.
The top gainers among the BSE POWER Index stocks during this same period were SIEMENS (up 92.6%), ADANI POWER (up 87.3%) and ADANI TRANSMISSION (up 66.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?
The BSE Sensex is at 39,223 (up 0.4%).
The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up 6.1%), L&T (up 2.0%) and VEDANTA LTD (up 1.3%). Other gainers include BAJAJ AUTO (up 0.7%) and ITC (up 0.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are POWER GRID and SBI.
In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,680 (up 0.5%). HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up 4.1%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.
Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 33,847 to 39,223, registering a gain of 5,376 points (up 15.9%).
RELIANCE POWER Financial Update...
RELIANCE POWER net profit down at Rs 352 million for the quarter ended June 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 2 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 1.2% to Rs 20.8 billion during the period as against Rs 21.0 billion in April-June 2018.
For the year ended March 2018, RELIANCE POWER reported 6.3% decrease in net profit to Rs 10.3 billion compared to net profit of Rs 11.0 billion during FY17.
Revenue of the company grew 5.3% to Rs 98 billion during FY18.
The current Price to earnings ratio of RELIANCE POWER, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 0.3x.
