SUN TV Plunges by 11%; BSE 500 Index Down 0.2%

SUN TV share price has plunged 11% and is presently trading at Rs 520.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 15,442 (down 0.2%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today is SUN TV (down 10.8%).

E.I.D. PARRY (up 13.0%) and RELIANCE NIPPON LIFE ASSET MANAGEMENT LTD (up 8.4%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, SUN TV has moved down from Rs 617 to Rs 520, registering a loss of Rs 97 (down 15.7%)..

The BSE 500 has moved up from 14,043 to 15,442, registering a gain of 1,399 points (up 10.0%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 122.9%), RELIANCE NIPPON LIFE ASSET MANAGEMENT LTD (up 109.2%) and MANAPPURAM FINANCE (up 94.0%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 40,447 . The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TCS (up 3.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are TATA MOTORS and TATA STEEL.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,947 (down 0.1%). BRITANNIA (up 4.5%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 34,813 to 40,447, registering a gain of 5,634 points (up 15.8%).

SUN TV Financial Update...

SUN TV net profit stood at Rs 4 billion for the quarter ended June 2019, compared to a profit of Rs 4 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 21.8% to Rs 11.0 billion during the period as against Rs 9.0 billion in April-June 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, SUN TV reported 27.5% increase in net profit to Rs 14.2 billion compared to net profit of Rs 11.1 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 27.7% to Rs 38 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of SUN TV, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 13.6x.
