RAIN INDUSTRIES plunges by 5%; BSE 500 Index Down 0.3%

RAIN INDUSTRIES share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 227.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 14,866 (Down 0.3%).

Among the top losers in the BSE 500 Index today are RAIN INDUSTRIES (down 5.00%) and MRPL (down 5.13%)

SHREE RENUKA SUGARS (up 9.35%) and RCF (up 8.01%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, RAIN INDUSTRIES has moved up from Rs 97 to Rs 227, registering a gain of Rs 130 (up 134.02%).

The BSE 500 has moved up from 13,303 to 14,866, registering a gain of 1,563 points (up 11.75%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were HEG LTD (up 1214.59%), GRAPHITE INDIA (up 570.37%) and RADICO KHAITAN (up 218.37%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 35,675 (down 0.11%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are DR. REDDYS LAB (up 4.43%), INFOSYS LTD (up 2.40%) and SUN PHARMA (up 1.76%). Other gainers include TCS (up 1.02%) and RELIANCE IND. (up 0.68%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SUN PHARMA and RELIANCE IND..

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,834 (down 0.07%). CIPLA (up 3.04%) and UPL LIMITED (up 2.64%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 31,156 to 35,675, registering a gain of 4,519 points (up 14.14%).

RAIN INDUSTRIES Financial Update...

RAIN INDUSTRIES net profit declined 16.3% YoY to Rs 3 billion for the quarter ended March 2018, compared to a loss of Rs 3 billion a year ago. Net Sales rose 105.1% to Rs 33.1 billion during the period as against Rs 31.4 billion in January-March 2017.

For the year ended December 2016, RAIN INDUSTRIES reported 18.0% increase in net profit to Rs 3.6 billion compared to net profit of Rs 3.1 billion during FY15.

Revenue of the company grew 8.6% to Rs 96 billion during FY16.

The current Price to earnings ratio of RAIN INDUSTRIES, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 7.2x.
