Indian Stock Market Updates January 28, 2020

TORRENT PHARMA Plunges by 5%; BSE HEALTHCARE Index Up 0.4%

TORRENT PHARMA share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 2,022.

Meanwhile, the BSE HEALTHCARE Index is at 14,380 (up 0.4%).

Among the top losers in the BSE HEALTHCARE Index today is TORRENT PHARMA (down 5.1%).

SUN PHARMA ADV. RES. (up 5.5%) and SUVEN LIFESCIENCES (up 4.8%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, TORRENT PHARMA has moved up from Rs 1,848 to Rs 2,022, registering a gain of Rs 174 (up 9.4%)..

The BSE HEALTHCARE has moved up from 13,658 to 14,380, registering a gain of 722 points (up 5.3%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE HEALTHCARE Index stocks during this same period were NARAYANA HRUDAYALAYA LTD (up 86.8%), DR. LAL PATHLABS LTD (up 75.6%) and GRANULES INDIA (up 70.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 41,333 . The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are SUN PHARMA (up 2.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and ICICI BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 12,164 . SUN PHARMA (up 2.6%) is among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 35,657 to 41,333, registering a gain of 5,676 points (up 15.5%).

TORRENT PHARMA Financial Update...

TORRENT PHARMA net profit down at Rs 2 billion for the quarter ended September 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 2 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 2.2% to Rs 20.1 billion during the period as against Rs 20.5 billion in July-September 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, TORRENT PHARMA reported 17.0% increase in net profit to Rs 7.9 billion compared to net profit of Rs 6.8 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 29.0% to Rs 77 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of TORRENT PHARMA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 58.7x.
