Indian Stock Market Updates June 8, 2020

ASHOK LEYLAND Surges by 11%; BSE AUTO Index Up 0.6%

ASHOK LEYLAND share price has zoomed 11% and is presently trading at Rs 54.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO Index is at 15,261 (up 0.6%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE AUTO Index today is ASHOK LEYLAND (up 11.1%).

TVS MOTORS (down 0.2%) and M&M (down 0.3%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, ASHOK LEYLAND has moved down from Rs 91 to Rs 54, registering a loss of Rs 38 (down 41.3%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO has moved down from 18,557 to 15,261, loss of 3,296 points (down 18.7%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE AUTO Index stocks during this same period were BALKRISHNA INDUSTRIES (up 49.3%) and MRF LTD. (up 15.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 34,928 (up 0.5%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are INDUSIND BANK (up 7.3%), AXIS BANK (up 5.9%) and BAJAJ FINANCE (up 4.9%). Other gainers include ONGC (up 4.7%) and HERO MOTOCORP (up 3.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and INDUSIND BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 10,328 (up 0.6%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include GAIL (up 8.4%), INDUSIND BANK (up 7.4%) and BPCL (up 7.1%). Other gainers include AXIS BANK (up 6.3%) and BAJAJ FINANCE (up 5.4%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved down from 39,530 to 34,928, registering a loss of 4,602 points (down 12.79%).

ASHOK LEYLAND Financial Update...

ASHOK LEYLAND net profit down at Rs 278 million for the quarter ended December 2019, compared to a loss of Rs 4 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 36.5% to Rs 40.2 billion during the period as against Rs 63.3 billion in October-December 2018.

For the year ended March 2019, ASHOK LEYLAND reported 19.7% increase in net profit to Rs 21.8 billion compared to net profit of Rs 18.2 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 11.0% to Rs 332 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of ASHOK LEYLAND, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 16.6x.
