Indian Stock Market Updates August 13, 2020

ASHOK LEYLAND Share Price Up by 8%; BSE AUTO Index Up 0.7%

ASHOK LEYLAND share price has zoomed 8% and is presently trading at Rs 59.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO Index is at 17,754 (up 0.7%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE AUTO Index today are ASHOK LEYLAND (up 7.6%) and BHARAT FORGE (up 10.2%).

HERO MOTOCORP (down 0.1%) and BAJAJ AUTO (down 0.3%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, ASHOK LEYLAND has moved down from Rs 62 to Rs 59, registering a loss of Rs 2 (down 5.7%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO has moved up from 15,438 to 17,754, registering a gain of 2,316 points (up 14.8%) during the last 12 months.

The top buzzing stocks among the BSE AUTO Index stocks during this same period were BALKRISHNA INDUSTRIES (up 85.3%), EICHER MOTOR (up 31.5%) and M&M (up 25.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 38,517 .

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are TITAN (up 2.4%), M&M (up 1.4%) and L&T (up 0.9%). Other gainers include BAJAJ FINANCE (up 0.8%) and HCL TECHNOLOGIES (up 0.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and ICICI BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,359 . The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include HINDALCO (up 3.5%), TITAN (up 2.4%) and TATA MOTORS (up 2.2%). Other gainers include ADANI PORTS & SEZ (up 1.5%) and M&M (up 1.4%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 36,958 to 38,517, registering a gain of 1,559 points (up 3.81%).

ASHOK LEYLAND Financial Update...

ASHOK LEYLAND net profit down at Rs 573 million for the quarter ended March 2020, compared to a loss of Rs 278 million a year ago. Net Sales declined 4.4% to Rs 38.4 billion during the period as against Rs 40.2 billion in January-March 2019.

For the year ended March 2019, ASHOK LEYLAND reported 19.7% increase in net profit to Rs 21.8 billion compared to net profit of Rs 18.2 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 11.0% to Rs 332 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of ASHOK LEYLAND, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 71.1x.
