Indian Stock Market Updates August 28, 2020

VODAFONE IDEA Share Price Up by 11%; BSE 500 Index Up 0.5%

VODAFONE IDEA share price has zoomed 11% and is presently trading at Rs 10.

Meanwhile, the BSE 500 Index is at 15,326 (up 0.5%).

Among the top Gainers in the BSE 500 Index today is VODAFONE IDEA (up 11.3%).

MRF LTD. and GLENMARK PHARMA are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, VODAFONE IDEA has moved up from Rs 5 to Rs 10, registering a gain of Rs 5 (up 86.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE 500 has moved up from 14,303 to 15,326, registering a gain of 1,023 points (up 7.0%) during the last 12 months.

The top buzzing stocks among the BSE 500 Index stocks during this same period were ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 894.6%), LAURUS LABS LTD (up 264.4%) and DIXON TECHNOLOGIES (up 241.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 39,378 (up 0.4%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are AXIS BANK (up 5.7%), INDUSIND BANK (up 3.8%) and ICICI BANK (up 2.4%). Other gainers include TATA STEEL (up 2.1%) and BHARTI AIRTEL (up 2.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are SBI and INDUSIND BANK.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,635 (up 0.4%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include AXIS BANK (up 5.9%), INDUSIND BANK (up 3.9%) and ZEE ENTERTAINMENT (up 3.4%). Other gainers include UPL (up 3.2%) and BHARTI INFRATEL (up 2.8%) are among the top gainers in NSE Nifty.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 37,641 to 39,378, registering a gain of 1,737 points (up 4.33%).

VODAFONE IDEA Financial Update...

VODAFONE IDEA net profit down at Rs 255 billion for the quarter ended June 2020, compared to a loss of Rs 65 billion a year ago. Net Sales declined 3.9% to Rs 106.6 billion during the period as against Rs 110.9 billion in April-June 2019.

For the year ended March 2019, VODAFONE IDEA reported 248.6% increase in net profit to Rs 156.5 billion compared to net profit of Rs 44.9 billion during FY18.

Revenue of the company grew 31.0% to Rs 370 billion during FY19.

The current Price to earnings ratio of VODAFONE IDEA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at down 0.1x.
