Indian Stock Market Updates September 8, 2020

ASTRAZENECA PHARMA at All Time High; BSE HEALTHCARE Index Up 0.2%

ASTRAZENECA PHARMA share price has hit an all-time high at Rs 4,690 (up 2.2%).

Meanwhile, the BSE HEALTHCARE Index is at 18,843 (up 0.2%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE HEALTHCARE Index today are ASTRAZENECA PHARMA (up 2.2%) and PFIZER (up 0.7%).

CADILA HEALTHCARE and LAURUS LABS LTD are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, ASTRAZENECA PHARMA has moved up from Rs 1,988 to Rs 4,690, registering a gain of Rs 2,702 (up 135.9%).

The BSE HEALTHCARE has moved up from 13,018 to 18,843, registering a gain of 5,825 points (up 44.4%) during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE HEALTHCARE Index stocks during this same period were GRANULES INDIA (up 301.1%), LAURUS LABS LTD (up 242.8%) and ASTRAZENECA PHARMA (up 135.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 38,508 (down 0.1%). The top gainers among the BSE Sensex stocks today are NESTLE (up 1.1%), NTPC (up 0.8%) and TATA STEEL (up 0.6%). Other gainers include HDFC BANK (up 0.6%) and INFOSYS (up 0.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are NESTLE and ITC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 11,379 (down 0.1%). The top gainers in the NSE Nifty include CIPLA (up 1.0%), DR. REDDYS LAB (up 0.9%) and HERO MOTOCORP (up 0.8%). Other gainers include ADANI PORTS & SEZ (up 0.8%) and BPCL (up 0.7%).

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 37,145 to 38,508, registering a gain of 1,363 points (up 3.3%).

ASTRAZENECA PHARMA Financial Update...

ASTRAZENECA PHARMA net profit down at Rs 96 million for the quarter ended March 2020, compared to a loss of Rs 267 million a year ago. Net Sales declined 12.9% to Rs 1.9 billion during the period as against Rs 2.2 billion in January-March 2019.

For the year ended March 2018, ASTRAZENECA PHARMA reported 29.2% increase in net profit to Rs 259.0 million compared to net profit of Rs 200.0 million during FY17.

Revenue of the company grew 4.3% to Rs 6 billion during FY18.

The current Price to earnings ratio of ASTRAZENECA PHARMA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 162.4x.
